RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR BOAT DOCK USE The demolition and reconstruction of the new Tamarind docks is complete and it seems everyone that has seen them agree that they are first class and a major asset to the community. The Board wishes to thank fellow Member and boater Gerald Kutchera for all of his efforts in designing and drafting a reference guide for the contractors to use when installing the mooring devices and helping to determine the most advantageous location for the water and electric stanchions.  Gerald voluntarily relocated his boat to a 24’ slip and surrendered his formerly occupied 31’ slip to accommodate someone that has a larger vessel. Gerald and his wife Kay are a prime example of the excellent residents that make Tamarind the great community that it is.

Two Board members Dave Laven and Paul Martin volunteered to spear head a committee to review and revise the boat dock usage rules. Their mission was to draft rules to ensure compliance with the submerged land lease and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) mandates, to preserve and protect the Association amenity and create guidelines for cohesive usage and then present them to the full Board for review and final approval, not a simple task. During the drafting process they solicited the input of fellow members and boaters in an informal session held in the clubhouse. The Board wishes to thank Dave and Paul for their hard work and to all the participating Members for their contribution.  Enclosed is a copy of the adopted “Rules and Regulations for Boat Dock Use” for your review and should be added to your condo documents as a permanent record.

If you currently have a vessel at the docks please see Rule #3 and provide a copy of your boat registration and proof of insurance to the Association office, all others must do so prior to occupying a reserved slip. Rule #11 prohibits the alteration of any dock or attachment of any device to any dock.

PARKING

Unless there is a specific reason such as an infirmity, please make it a practice to park in your assigned carport and leave the open parking for overflow and your guests and your neighbor’s guests. Remember to obtain your parking permit and guest parking permits from the office. The property is posted with signs that a parking permit is required and violators are subject to towing.

BALCONIES, LANAIS AND COMMON WALKWAYS AND ENTRANCES

As a reminder and to our new owners , Section XVIII, ALTERATION OF UNITS, Paragraph A. exists in our Amended And Restated Declaration Of Condominium for Tamarind Gulf and Bay Condominium, which reads paraphrased in part: “No owner shall cause any improvements or changes to be made to the exterior of the building by installing hanging plants or lights in balconies or exterior walls, or in any manner change the appearance of the exterior of the building or any portion of the building not totally within the unit without consent of the Association. No owner nor any other person shall install upon the exterior of the apartment building upon the Condominium Property, or upon the common elements or limited common elements of the Condominium, any TV antennae, radio antennae, electric, electronic or electro-mechanical device, decorative item or affixed furnishing without the consent of the Association”.  If you have hung or attached any item to the walls, ceiling or floors of your patio, screened lanai or roof deck, it must be removed along with any attachment devise. The use of balconies, patios or lanais for storage of bicycles, rafts and beach equipment or for hanging towels, clothing or swimsuits is prohibited.

The halls and stairways outside the individual units are not to be altered in any way nor used for storage of trash or personal effects. Your neighbor may appreciate your sense of style and decorating taste until they or one of their guests’ trips and falls over the duck holding the artificial flowers sitting outside your front door that you think is cute. It is a safety hazard, a violation of fire code and against the Association governing documents and must be removed. Please be a responsible member and a good neighbor and avoid the necessity of personal contact from the Association to assure compliance.

IN MEMORIUM

The Association wishes to acknowledge the recent passing of Goetz Grimm. Mr. Grimm along with his wife Ursula was a long time owner and winter resident at Tamarind. We extend our condolences to Ursula and the Grimm family.

Have a wonderful Holiday season.
